With this project I set out to create a solution for mounting my smartphone to the steering bar of my bicycle which did not require me to remove my phone from its case. The assembly consists of a total of four parts and a single standard component: a single-piece ratchetting clamp for the steering bar with a sliding rail, upper and lower housing with locating rails, and a hinge-less clip which is press-fit into the upper housing and secures to the lower section, along with one zip-tie for extra securing of the clamp to the steering bar. Extensive road testing proved that the contruction performed well even on bumpy roads without changing position.
